During more than two decades of working in communications, Spiros has strong media ties with local and regional news organizations. He has used his public relations experience on behalf of a variety of clients such as the Delaware Health Information Network, The nGage Company, The Delaware Building and Construction Trades Council, Delaware Academy of Medicine, Laborers International Union of North America, Galanaugh & Co., Creative Communications, Connections Community Support Programs, Inc., The Data Centers, LLC, EnviroKure, Inc. and more.
Prior to launching The Mantzavinos Group- a Delaware based public relations firm offering its clients media relations, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and issue & crisis management counsel, Spiros managed media relations for Christiana Care Health System, Delaware’s largest private employer and one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s largest academic health care providers. While there, he led the media relations team working with regional and national press; managing local media events; directing the health system’s online newsroom; and instituting the organization’s first quantitative and qualitative media measurement and media tracking system for traditional and social media. Also, Spiros’ worked extensively with national, trade, regional and local media during his tenure with Motiva Enterprises, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Shell Oil Products, US.
In addition to leading The Mantzavinos Group, Spiros has appeared as a guest commentator on WHYY-TV’s First segment “State of Play,” is a past president of the Public Relations Society of America, Delaware Chapter, and is currently the treasurer of the Delaware Press Association. He earned a M.A. in political science from the University of Delaware and holds a B.A. in economics and political science from Muhlenberg College.
