Spiros Mantzavinos

If anyone needs a book written about politics, public policy and government, Spiros is the guy to do it.

The native of Caldwell, N.J., brings to the table a wide array of experience, talent, and knowledge in the public arena.

“My interest has always been politics and government,” he explains. “When I had an opportunity to work in the Delaware State Senate, I discovered how much the media, technology, politics, and government interact. So, it was a natural migration from government and politics, given how critical it is to communicate clearly, persuasively and through the channel constituents and voters were attuned to, into media relations, public relations, and mobile technology.”

You name it, and the Delaware resident has done it. In addition to his work in the First State’s Senate, Spiros’ numerous credentials include:

Two decades of working in communications, including time with the Mid-Atlantic region’s largest academic health-care providers, the Delaware Building and Construction Trades Council and the Laborers International Union of North America.

  • Appearing as a guest TV commentator on WHYY-TV 12 in Wilmington, Del.
  • Working as an adjunct professor at Wilmington University in the greater Philadelphia area.
  • Serving as president of the Public Relations Society of America, Delaware chapter; and treasurer of the Delaware Press Association.
  • For Princeton Strategic Communications, he leads a team of mobile-app and digital-communications specialists.

“I firmly believe that communications today has to be engaging through social media and mobile platforms,” says Spiros, a graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., (bachelors) and the University of Delaware (masters). “Every story has at least two sides.  I work with people to be sure their side of the story is heard.”

An avid baseball fan, he enjoys reading about history in his free time. And for anyone who says, “It’s all Greek to me,” fear not: Spiros speaks the language.
